Edwin Depeiza and the Urban Renewal Band have helped to create wonderful memories for their clients and their guests for the past 18 years.
Professionalism and specialization is the key to bandleader Edwin Depeiza's success with the group. He has tailored the size of his band and the repertoire they perform to fit any affair. From low-key standards during cocktail hour in a swank Boston hotel, to a Motown "great time" at the mansions in Newport, to a big band sound at a castle in Germany, Mr. Depeiza and his band have played every type of venue... thoughtfully providing for each unique situation.
Although the band boasts international as well as national acclaim, its members are in fact some of the finest, most talented musicians from the New England area. The band is tight every step of the way and their solo performances are applause worthy.
When people wanted to party, dance, sing along and just really enjoy themselves at a wedding, bar or bat mitzvah, inaugural event, anniversary celebration, corporate party or night club the Urban Renewal Band provided entertainment that did just that. They have played at hundreds of venues always delivering the fine soulful performance their reputation is built on. The band also welcomes special occasion performances for a diverse ethnic and cultural clientele.

Edwin Depeiza
Guitarist / Band Leader and founding member of Urban Renewal
Born in Barbados, Edwin has been in the U.S. for many years. His music career started in church and expanded to island music and R & B. He has performed with such greats as Carla Thomas, Rufus Thomas, Clarence Carter, Maurice Starr (who launched the careers of New Edition and New Kids on the Block) and Lionel Ritchie in Berlin, Germany in 1999. He has also played in Canada, Germany and Austria. On several of his 33 tours to Europe, he performed at the World famous Nacht Cafe and the prestigious Bayerlacher Hof (5 star Hotel) in Munich.
